Loyal Metagraph - Litepaper

Overview

Loyal is the natural evolution of the El Paca Metagraph. Built from the ground up with a focus on scalability and long-term utility, Loyal serves as the engagement and loyalty layer of the Constellation Network. It builds on the foundational work of El Paca, which introduced a novel SocialFi mechanism through the $PACA token, and carries those ideas forward into a more durable and extensible framework.

Where El Paca pioneered the idea of rewarding wallets and social activity, Loyal introduces a refined approach. The new metagraph aims to measure loyalty in a way that is consistent, valuable for metagraph projects, meaningful to participants, and sustainable for the network.

From El Paca to Loyal

El Paca was introduced in mid-2024 as an innovative loyalty initiative (code-named “Loyalty 4.0”) designed to reward community activity within the Constellation Network.

Its original goal was to explore verifiable, participation-based loyalty, rather than simply rewarding token holdings, El Paca distributed tokens to users who actively contributed to the ecosystem. By tracking various positive behaviors from on-chain transactions (like swapping into $DAG or bridging to ethereum ) to off-chain enagement ( posting on X with using sepcific tags or creating videos on youtube).

El Paca engaged Constellation's community and proved that meaningful participation could be quantitatively rewarded. This meme-inspired utility token brought a sense of creativity and fun, all while pioneering programmatic incentives and airdrops to align stakeholders with the network’s success. Over its lifecycle, El Paca achieved several milestones. It demonstrated systematic data gathering and reward logic: the metagraph integrated participation data on several different activites and minted $PACA tokens based on that activity, ensuring fair and transparent distribution to deserving users.

The code was made public, inviting community verification and inspiring other projects to consider similar models. Notably, El Paca also bridged on-chain rewards with off-chain social media activity. For example, by late 2024 an integration allowed users to link their X accounts and earn $PACA for posting about the $DAG ecosystem, a true on-chain SocialFi innovation. This demonstrated how a loyalty metagraph could tap into social networks and broaden participation without requiring deep technical knowledge from users.

The evolution from El Paca to Loyal comes as a natural progression to build on these successes and address new opportunities. El Paca began as an experimental pilot (with a playful theme and limited initial feature set), and it successfully validated the concept of blockchain-based loyalty rewards. However, as the community grew and use cases expanded, it became clear that a more robust, extensible platform was needed.

The Loyal metagraph represents this next phase. Carrying forward the foundation laid by El Paca, but with a more formal branding and an upgraded infrastructure to support a broader vision. In short, Loyal aims to refine what El Paca started: greater scalability, more integration avenues, and an enhanced user experience, ensuring the loyalty program can mature into a long-term pillar of the Constellation ecosystem.

Snapshot and LOYAL Airdrop

The transition from El Paca to Loyal will be carried out through a planned snapshot and token airdrop process. This ensures continuity for participants and a fair transfer of value from the old system to the new one. The process can be summarized as follows:

  • Snapshot of $PACA holdings: Users do not need to take any action during the snapshot beyond holding their $PACA in a compatible wallet; all eligible balances will be recorded automatically.

  • Airdrop of $LOYAL tokens: Following the snapshot, Loyal’s genesis will include an airdrop of $LOYAL tokens to those captured addresses. The airdrop is designed to replace $PACA with $LOYAL as the new utility token of the loyalty metagraph, so that early supporters get a stake in the evolved ecosystem.

This snapshot and airdrop mechanism ensures that the community’s efforts and rewards earned under El Paca are preserved in Loyal. It provides continuity (no one is starting from zero) while also marking a clear migration to the improved system.

Purpose and direction

Loyal is designed to turn loyalty into a native on-chain primitive. It functions as both a social and reputational layer for the Constellation Network, enabling projects and participants to track meaningful contributions and allocate rewards accordingly.

The metagraph will continue to monitor on-chain activity such as staking, token swaps, and validator participation. In parallel, it will expand its reach to include off-chain signals like verified social posts, content contributions, and project-based engagement. These signals will be used not only for rewards, but also to influence governance, access rights, and ecosystem prioritization.

Vision and Purpose

The Loyal metagraph will be driven by loyalty and engagement. While El Paca proved that a blockchain-based loyalty program can work, Loyal expands this concept to realize its full potential. Several key objectives and improvements define Loyal’s purpose:

  • A core principle is aligning incentives so that what’s good for the ecosystem is also beneficial for the user.

  • The Loyal metagraph is built for handling more users and more data sources as the ecosystem grows. This means as new platforms emerge or community priorities shift, Loyal can integrate those and remain relevant.

  • One of the visionary goals of Loyal is to serve as a bridge between communities not only within Constellation but also reaching into other blockchain ecosystems. The Loyal token and its underlying data could enable targeted airdrops and collaborations with external projects. For instance, other metagraph projects or DApps could airdrop their tokens to top Loyal contributors, or use Loyal’s metrics to find engaged users for beta testing and feedback. This was hinted at with El Paca’s concept of bridging ecosystems and giving access to events and products

Overall, the purpose of Loyal is to create a more powerful, flexible, and far-reaching loyalty system than what existed before. It is not just an incremental update to El Paca, but a transformation of it – turning a successful pilot program into a comprehensive platform for community incentives.

The LOYAL Token

At the core of the Loyal Metagraph is the $LOYAL token, designed to recognize and reward active participation across the Constellation ecosystem. It reflects a user’s contribution whether through consistent engagement, support for infrastructure, or helping grow the community in meaningful ways.

Role and Utility

LOYAL is earned through verifiable actions. Users might receive it for contributing to campaigns, amplifying updates, or maintaining involvement over time. The metagraph keeps track of these actions and distributes tokens accordingly.

From the beginning, Constellation will use the platform to promote its own initiatives, setting examples of how LOYAL can be applied to support growth and engagement. Over time, other projects will have the opportunity to do the same using the platform to create campaigns that reward the kinds of participation most relevant to their goals.

This positions $LOYAL not only as a reward, but as a tool for shaping and coordinating activity across the network. As more campaigns are launched, tokens will naturally move through different hands and use cases, reinforcing the connection between value and contribution.

Supply and Distribution

The supply of will be capped $LOYAL and distributed over time in response to actual activity. Tokens are distributed when justified by verified engagement.

As with most tokens in the Constellation ecosystem, $LOYAL can also be used outside the platform. Those who earn it are free to decide how it fits into their broader participation whether they choose to hold, use, or exchange it will depend on the opportunities and integrations that emerge.

Conclusion

Loyal is the next step in how the Constellation ecosystem supports its community. As the network grows, it needs better ways to recognize the people driving that growth—those who participate, contribute, and help shape what’s being built. Loyal was created for that purpose.

The $LOYAL token will be part of how projects engage their users, how reputation is measured, and how access is granted. It creates a common layer that different teams and communities can use to reward participation in a consistent and meaningful way.

This isn’t a one-off initiative. Loyal is meant to become a standard across the network—something other metagraphs can build with, and something users will come to expect. Whether it’s through governance, early access, or token distribution, $LOYAL will be used to connect action with recognition in a way that lasts.
